Admission Information
Admission Information at HUGS Recovery Centers
You have just made a very important decision, one that will affect the rest of your life. In order that you come prepared and know what to expect, HUGS Recovery Centers has compiled the following information that will be helpful in planning for your treatment experience.
Consumer Rights
HUGS Recovery Centers believes in respectful treatment of consumers, family members, and staff while providing a safe and supportive environment. HUGS Recovery Centers provides a system to ensure that the consumers' and rights are preserved and protected. A copy of these rights will be given to you upon admission into HUGS.
Confidentiality
HUGS Recovery Center's commitment to each consumer's confidentiality is ensured by our legal responsibility as mandated by state and federal law. Each staff member is dedicated to upholding these standards in all communications and records.
Medication
It is important that you advise the Intake Counselor of all medications you are currently taking. Include the name of the medication, the dosage and frequency administered, as well as the name of the physician who prescribed the medication. Please bring only a 30-day supply of the medication in the appropriately labeled prescription bottle. Controlled substances will be destroyed, except with a written order by your Medical Provider and/or Physician. Each consumer's will be responsible for the administration of his or her prescribed medications.
Please do not bring over-the-counter medications (i.e., Advil, Tylenol, etc.), vitamins, herbs, or nutritional supplements. All over the counter medications must have Staff approval prior to the consumer taking any medication.
Tobacco Use
The HUGS Recovery Centers Program is a SMOKE FREE facility. However, for those who do smoke, there are certain limited designated areas, outside only, where smoking is permitted.
Visitors
Consumers may have scheduled visitation after they have met with their primary therapist and appropriate visitors have been authorized and scheduled. Visitors are required to follow the guidelines for appropriate attire. Guests are asked to not bring any food, candy, soda, gifts, magazines, etc. to any consumer without the Counselors’ permission, and all packages will be checked by a staff member. In order to ensure confidentiality, cameras and picture-taking are not permitted on the grounds of HUGS Recovery Centers.
Telephone/Mail
In order to ensure a therapeutic environment, consumers are encouraged to make phone calls only after the first 5-days of treatment. Upon admission, consumers are allowed to call a significant other person to advise them of their safe arrival.
Telephones are available during certain hours each day in the main office.

No mail order packages will be delivered to consumers while they are in treatment unless authorized by their primary therapist.
Family Education & Support Program
When available, the Family Program at HUGS Recovery Centers is designed to create a recovery foundation for you and your family or significant others. This program aims to expand self-awareness and knowledge of family dynamics as well as increase communication skills. This process introduces family members to a variety of self-care tools and provides resources for continuing care.
The Family Education Program is scheduled as needed on the first Monday evening of the month at 6:00 p.m. Participation in this program is included in the cost of the consumer's treatment.
