Treatment & Recovery Management
James, a former US Army veteran, had been to four treatment centers before coming to HUGS Recovery Centers. No matter what he tried, as soon as he was discharged from the other treatment centers he would relapse. One day after using both drugs and alcohol all day and night feeling hopeless and along he stated that he fell down to his knees and asked for help. The next day he found his way to the local VA Hospital seeking refuge from the pains of his addiction. He was admitted to the VA’s out-patient program and sent to HUGS for residential care and recovery management services, he has not used since that seemingly hopeless day in 2004. Today, he is a Recovery Coach at a GA drug rehab, very active in the recovery community and working at becoming a Certified Addiction Counselor so that he can continue to give back to others what he and so many others just like him have been able to find through our combination of treatment and recovery management.
At HUGS, an Atlanta Mental Health and Addiction Treatment facility, we treat mental illness and addiction much like other chronic illnesses are treated-with long-term care, monitoring and follow-up. We do not provide “Aftercare”, instead we provide Continuous Care with our approach to create a seamless system of care between treatment and the environment where our clients live. We use a combination of highly trained professionals and Certified Recovery Specialists to support long-term recovery, just like that of James. By shifting the recovery environment from the treatment center to the community where the client lives with the help of one of our trained Certified Recovery Specialists it allows our Professional Therapist to focus primarily on assessments, diagnoses, treatment planning, and the treatment of trauma, co-occurring disorders and family therapy. Our Certified Recovery Specialists help with linkages into communities of recovery and provide pre-treatment, in-treatment and post-treatment recovery support in the client’s natural environment. Additionally, our staff is trained for and operate our drug free workplace's in Georgia program which makes them experts in advising patients for their return to the workforce.
Experienced, professional and compassionate, our team of master level clinicians and para- professionals includes: Psychiatrist, Physicians, Nurses, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Master Addiction Counselors, Mental Health Professionals, Certified Clinical Therapist, Certified Addiction Counselors and Certified Recovery Specialists. Some of our staff are recovering themselves and have a personal as well as professional commitment to helping persons with both mental health and addiction problems.
Let our team of professionals serve the needs of your agency, company or loved-ones. Don’t delay, act today! NOW IS THE TIME.
